Question

Where can I find the MAC address on my CM820 modem?

Answer

When provisioning the modem, the Cable service provider may request the MAC address of the modem.  The label on the bottom of the CM820 contains the Media Access Control (MAC) address, a unique, 48-bit value permanently saved in ROM at the factory to identify each Ethernet network device.  To receive data service, the MAC address marked CMAC will need to be provided to the Internet Service Provider.  This document includes the following sections:

  • Locating the MAC Address on the Bottom Panel
  • Locating the MAD Address in the GUI (Graphical User Interface)

The MAC address can be located on a white sticker on the bottom of the device.
