Question
How do I set up my G18/G20 gateway to use other DNS addresses?
Answer
Domain Name Server (DNS) is a database that contains domain host names (e.g. http://www.surfboard.com) that are linked to a specific IP address.  When accessing a website by a domain name like www.surfboard.com, the DNS retrieves the IP address to access the website.  DNS makes it possible to access the websites by domain names.

The DNS settings can be customized when using public DNS or installing private DNS in a home network.  This document describes how to set up custom DNS addresses in the G18/G20.

CAUTION: By default, the G18/G20 obtains DNS addresses automatically from the service provider.  Internet connection may be lost if the DNS addresses inputted in the G18/G20 are not legitimate.
