Answer | The G54 Parental Control feature provides the ability to block websites to all devices in the home network or devices on Parental Control profiles. Create rules to block websites by web address or keyword (a word that is part of the web address), and set a schedule for certain times of the day, certain days of the week, or at all times.  By default, the Parental Control is disabled, which allows access to Internet websites to all of the devices at all times.  This document describes how to block websites with a Web Address and Keyword using the Web Manager. NOTE: Client devices configured as Trusted Devices are excluded from Parental Control rules. To set up Trusted Devices, refer to article 19579 - G54: Parental Control Trusted Devices.Block Websites with Web Address and Keyword
- Launch a web browser, such as Internet Explorer, Firefox, or Safari. Â Enter http://192.168.0.1 into the address box, and press the Enter key. Â Â Â
 - A security or private risk alert may appear on the web browser advising users to proceed with caution when accessing the Web Manager. There is no risk in proceeding to the Web Manager. For instructions to bypass the alert screen, refer to article 18181 - Alert Message for Web Manager Access.
NOTE: The Home Network Wizard will appear if this is the first time accessing the Web Manager. For assistance with the wizard, refer to article 19497 - G54: Web Manager First Time Login.  - On the Login page, enter the custom password in the Password field. The Username field is populated with admin.Â
NOTE: If the Username field is populated with an email address, retrieve the admin password from the SURFboard Central app to log in. For detailed instructions in the app, refer to article 19069 - SURFboard Central: Web Manager Access.  - Click the Login button.  The Gateway > Summary page will appear.
 - On the left-hand menu, click the Parental Control link. The Parental Control > Managed Sites page will appear. Â
NOTE: The blocked website rules configured in the Parental Control > Managed Sites page will apply to all devices connected to the home network. To block websites for the Parental Control profile, click the Managed Groups sub-menu link and then click the Edit button next to a profile. Proceed to step 7 to create the block website rules. To create a new profile, refer to article 19581 - G54: Parental Control Profile Setup.   - Click the Enable button for the Enable Parental Control option.
 - Click the +Add button for Blocked Sites.  The Manually Add URL page will appear.
 - Enter the website to block in the URL field.
NOTE: Examples of URL entries are https://www.surfboard.com, www.surfboard.com, and surfboard.com.  - Click the check box next to each day that the rule will be active.Â
 - Enter the time to start for the rule to begin, enter the hour in the first box and the minute in the second box.Â
 - Enter the time that the rule will stop, enter the hour in the third box and the minute in the fourth box.Â
NOTE: The time must be entered in 24-hour format, the day begins at 00:00 and ends at 23:59.   - Click the Enable radio button then the Save button. The settings will take effect immediately.  The Parental Control > Managed Sites page will appear.Â
 - The website entry is displayed below the Blocked Sites section.  Â
NOTE: To remove a blocked site rule, click the Delete button next to each rule.  - Click the +Add button in the Blocked Keywords section. The Manually Add KEYWORD page will appear.Â
 - Enter a word contained in the web address in the KEYWORD field.Â
 - Click the check box next to each day that the rule will be active.Â
 - Enter the time to start for the rule to begin, enter the hour in the first box and the minute in the second box.Â
 - Enter the time that the rule will stop, enter the hour in the third box and the minute in the fourth box.Â
