Answer | The Web Manager is used for customizing the home network and monitoring the operation status of the SBG6580 gateway.  The default admin login credential to log into the Web Manager for the first time is admin (username) and motorola (password). It is required to change the default admin password after login. This document contains the following section:
Web Manager Access
- Launch a Firefox or Safari browser.  Enter http://192.168.0.1 into the address box, and press the Enter key. Â
NOTE: A browser message on Chrome, Edge, Firefox, and Opera, may appear when accessing the Web Manager. The message includes 192.168.01 uses an unsupported protocol and ERR_SSL_VERSION_OR_CIPHER_MISMATCH. The Web Manager uses an earlier version of the TLS protocol and does not match the version allowed by the web browser.  Safari browsers on Apple PC and mobile devices are not impacted.  The workaround to access the Web Manager with a PC is to use the Firefox browser and set the TLS version to 1. For workaround instructions refer to article # 19435 - 192.168.0.1 uses an unsupported protocol.Â
 - A security or private risk alert may appear on the web browser advising users to proceed with caution when accessing the Web Manager. There is no risk in proceeding to the Web Manager. For instructions to bypass the alert screen, refer to article # 18181 - Alert Message for Web Manager Access.
 - On the Login page, enter admin in the Username field.
 - Enter motorola in the Password field then click the Login button.  The Change User Password window will appear.
 NOTE: "The user name or password is invalid, please try again." message will appear when the username or password is entered incorrectly.  For additional information, click here.
 - Enter admin in the Enter Username field and motorola in the Enter Current Password field.
 - Enter a new password in the Enter New Password field and re-enter the new password in the Re-Enter New Password field.
NOTE: The password strength indicator will display Weak or Strong next to the Enter New Password field on firmware version 8.9.0.5 and newer.
Password Requirements:
- Minimum of 8Â characters
- At least one uppercase alpha character
- At least 1 number
- One of ~ ! @ # $ % ^ * (Â ) - _ = + [ ] { } | ; : , . / ?
- Click the Apply button. The Home screen will appear. The new admin password will take effect immediately.Â
Username or Password InvalidThe following message appears when the incorrect username or password is used for login. "The user name or password is invalid, please try again".Â
- Enter the correct username and password.Â
- When the login attempts continue to fail, factory reset the SBG6580 to logi n with the default admin password. For assistance with a factory reset, refer to article # 6359 - SBG6580: Factory Reset.Â
User Already LoggedThe following message appears upon login when the Web Manager browser is closed without clicking the Logout button. "User already logged. To make a login click the logout at the top of the page and then return to this page."  It is recommended to click the Logout button to end the Web Manager session. Â
- Click the Logout button on the top-right corner to log out the current Web Manager session. The Logout page will appear.Â
NOTE: The following message appears when a 2nd device login to the Web Manager while a current device is logged into the Web Manager. "User already logged. To make a login click the logout at the top of the page and then return to this page."  Clicking the Logout button does not log out of the current device session, the message appears again upon login. To access the Web Manager continue to use on the current device that is logged into the Web Manager.Â
 - Click the Back to Login link. The login page will appear.
 - Enter admin in the Username field and enter a customized password in the Password field.
 - Click the Login button. The Home page will appear.
NOTE: It is recommended to click the Logout button on the top-right screen to end the Web Manager session.
