The SBG6580 includes MAC Filtering option to define up to twenty Media Access Control (MAC) address filters to prevent devices from sending outgoing TCP/UDP traffic to the WAN via their MAC addresses. This option is useful because the MAC address of specific Network Interface Card (NIC) never changes. Unlike IP addresses, they can be assigned by the DHCP server or hard-coded to various address. MAC Address Filtering is disabled by default. This document describes how to enable MAC Filtering.
