Just as the WAN interface of the SBG6700-AC can be configured for a customized setup, the SBG6700-AC also includes configurable options for the Local Area Network (LAN). Â The LAN IP Address and DHCP range can be configured and modified to suit the needs of the network. Â By default, the LAN IP address of the SBG6700-AC is 192.168.0.1. Â This document describes how to change the LAN IP address and DHCP range of the SBG6700-AC.
Â
NOTE 1: If the LAN IP address is modified to be in a different subnet (e.g. 192.168.8.1), the SBG6700-AC will automatically change the DHCP range to use addresses in that subnet.
Â
NOTE 2: The subnet mask of the SBG6700-AC (255.255.255.0) cannot be modified.
Â
Changing the Local Area Network (LAN) IP Address
- Launch a Firefox or Safari browser.  Enter http://192.168.0.1 into the address box, and press the Enter key. Â
NOTE: A browser message on Chrome, Edge, Firefox, and Opera, may appear when accessing the Web Manager. The message includes 192.168.01 uses an unsupported protocol and ERR_SSL_VERSION_OR_CIPHER_MISMATCH. The Web Manager uses an earlier version of the TLS protocol and does not match the version allowed by the web browser.  Safari browsers on Apple PC and mobile devices are not impacted.  The workaround to access the Web Manager with a PC is to use the Firefox browser and set the TLS version to 1. For workaround instructions refer to article # 19435 - 192.168.0.1 uses an unsupported protocol.Â
 - A security or private risk alert may appear on the web browser advising users to proceed with caution when accessing the Web Manager. There is no risk in proceeding to the Web Manager. For instructions to bypass the alert screen, refer to article # 18181 - Alert Message for Web Manager Access.
 - On the Login page, enter admin or a customized username in the Username field.
 - Enter password or a customized password in the Password field.
NOTE: On later versions of the SBG6700-AC, the Wi-Fi Security Key is used as the default admin password printed on the bottom white label. For assistance with Web Manager Access, refer to article # 18754 – SBG6700-AC: Web Manager Access.

Â
10.x.x.x
172.16.x.x - 172.31.x.x
192.168.x.x
Â
b.  Click the Apply button in the LAN Network Configuration section.
Â

 - Click the Login button.  The Home page will appear.
Â
 - Move the mouse cursor over the Basic tab and select the DHCP sub-link. The Basic - DHCP page appears.
 - Enable DHCP Server:
- If it is desired to have the SBG6700-AC give IP addresses to all of the devices automatically, leave this setting at Enabled.
- If some devices are manually configured with IP addresses, but others are to receive an address from the SBG6700-AC, leave this setting unchecked.
- If there is another device on the network that will be the DHCP server, change this setting to unchecked.
- If it is desired to manually configure each device with an IP address, change this setting to unchecked.
NOTE: If the Enabled DHCP Server option has been set to uncheck, skip down to step 8.
 - Starting Local Address - This setting classifies the first IP address to be used in the DHCP range.
- Max Number of Network Devices - This will classify how many IP addresses are to be used in the DHCP range. For example, if this option is set to 100, and the Starting Local Address is set as 192.168.0.100, then the DHCP range will be from 192.168.0.100 - 192.168.0.199.
- Lease time - This is the number of seconds that a device will keep an IP address if that device has received an IP address automatically from the SBG6700-AC.
- Click the Apply button in the LAN Network Configuration section.
