In certain situations, it may be desired to use a VoIP (Voice over IP) device with the SBG6700-AC.  The SBG6700-AC is compatible with VoIP SIP (Session Initiated Protocol) devices, as it includes the SIP ALG Passthrough feature, which is enabled by default.
For VoIP devices that do not use SIP, the SIP ALG Passthrough feature may need to be disabled in the SBG6700-AC.  In some cases, the SBG6700-AC may also need to be configured to forward ports to the VoIP device.
