SBG6782: Wireless AP Isolate Setup (Primary Network)

How I do setup AP Isolate in the SBG6782?

When having multiple wireless devices connected to the wireless network, it may be desired to configure the SBG6782 to prohibit the wireless devices on the same network from communicating to each other, but still able to connect to the Internet.  This can be configured for the wireless primary network or guest network by enabling the AP Isolate (Access Point Isolate) feature in the SBG6782.  By default, AP Isolate is disabled in the SBG6782.  This document describes how to enable AP Isolate for the 2.4 GHz and/or 5 GHz wireless primary network..

Isolating the Primary Wireless Network

1. Obtain the Username and Password on the black label on the side of the SBG6782.  They will be used for accessing the GUI.
2. Launch a web browser, such as Internet Explorer, Firefox, or Safari.  Enter http://192.168.0.1 into the address box.
   
   NOTE: By default the LAN IP address is 192.168.0.1.  If the default address has been changed, enter the custom address in the address box.
    
3. Enter the username and password in the appropriate fields, and click the Login button.  The Status page appears.
   
   
    
4. Click the Wireless link on the top menu.  The Wireless 802.11 Radio page appears.
5. On the Wireless 802.11 Radio page:
   a.  Wireless Interfaces - Choose the desired frequency to modify (2.4 GHz or 5 GHz).
   
   NOTE 1: Choosing the Wireless Interface only determines which frequency settings are desired to be modified.  The 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz frequencies are already enabled simultaneously by default.
   
   NOTE 2: The 2.4 GHz frequency supports 802.11 b/g/n wireless clients, while the 5.0 GHz frequency supports 802.11n wireless clients only.  802.11n devices will generally perform better in the 5GHz range.
   
   NOTE 3: In this example, the 2.4 GHz frequency has been selected to modify.
   
   b.   Click the Apply button.
   
   
    
6. Click the Primary Network button on the left-hand menu.  The Primary Network page appears. 
7. On the 802.11 Primary Network page:
   a.   AP Isolate - Click on the drop-down menu, and select Enabled.
   
    
   
   
   b.   Scroll down to the bottom of the page, and click the Apply button.
