In addition to being a cable modem with a built-in router and wireless access point, the SBG6782 also includes a built-in MoCA adapter.  Just as devices can be added to the SBG6782 network by using a wireless connection or an Ethernet cable, devices can also be added to the network by using MoCA (Multimedia over Coax Alliance) technology. With MoCA, devices can be connected to the SBG6782 by utilizing the coax cabling that's built into the home.Â
For example, if a set-top box is located in the living room, and a Smart TV is in the bedroom that includes a coax connection, the Smart TV can take advantage of MoCA technology to be able to watch TV from the bedroom. The Smart TV would connect through the Ethernet connection, which would allow multimedia content to stream from the set-top box to the Smart TV. With this setup, cable television can be accessed from the living room TV and the Smart TV in the bedroom simultaneously. Other devices (such as a computer or gaming console) can also be connected from the bedroom and have access to the Internet.
By default, MoCA is disabled in SBG6782. This document describes how to enable MoCA for SBG6782.
NOTE 1: To find out if the set-top box supports this setup, please contact the manufacturer.
NOTE 2:Â The MoCA feature in the SBG6782 uses MoCA version 1.1, and only uses D-Band channels for a MoCA connection.
NOTE 3: This feature is not available for units that have been purchased or leased from Time Warner.

To Setup MoCA Connection
- Launch a Firefox or Safari browser.  Enter http://192.168.0.1 into the address box, and press the Enter key. Â
NOTE: A browser message on Chrome, Edge, Firefox, and Opera, may appear when accessing the Web Manager. Â The message includes 192.168.01 uses an unsupported protocol and ERR_SSL_VERSION_OR_CIPHER_MISMATCH. Â The Web Manager uses an earlier version of the TLS protocol and does not match the version allowed by the web browser. Â Safari browsers on Apple PC and mobile devices are not impacted. Â The workaround to access the Web Manager with a PC is to use the Firefox browser and set the TLS version to 1. Â For workaround instructions refer to article #Â 19435 - 192.168.0.1 uses an unsupported protocol.
 - A security or private risk alert may appear on the web browser advising users to proceed with caution when accessing the Web Manager.  There is no risk in proceeding to the Web Manager.  For instructions to bypass the alert screen, refer to article # 18181 - Alert Message for Web Manager Access.
 - On the Login page, enter admin or a customized username in the Username field.
 - Enter motorola or a customized password in the Password field.
NOTE 1: On later versions of the SBG6782-AC, the Wi-Fi Security Key is used as the default admin password printed on the bottom white label. For assistance with Web Manager Access, refer to article # 18755 – SBG6782-AC: Web Manager Access.

NOTE 2:Â For units that have been leased or purchased by Shaw Communications, the username is cusadmin, and the password is the Customer S/N (Serial Number), located on a white sticker on the bottom of the unit.
 - Click the Login button.  The Home page will appear.

 - Move the mouse cursor over the Basic tab and select the MoCA sub-link. The Basic - MoCA: Configuration and Status page will appear.
NOTE: Units that have been purchased or leased from Shaw may not show the Basic - MoCA: Configuration and Status page. For more information, please contact Shaw.
- On the Basic - MoCA: Configuration and Status page:
a.  MoCA - Check this option to enable MoCA.
b.  Operational Frequency - Click the drop-down menu, and select SCAN.
c.   Available D-Band Channels - Checkmark all 8 channels.
c.   Max Beacon Power Level -  Leave this setting at default 10 (Max).
d.  Transmit Power Level - Leave this setting at default 10 (Max).
e.   Privacy - Leave this setting at the default, unchecked.
f.  Click the Apply button.
NOTE: A restart is not required for these settings to take effect.
Verifying the MoCA Connection
