Answer | Virtual Servers also known as Port Forwarding allow the option to run a publicly accessible server on the home network by specifying the mapping of TCP and/or UDP ports to a local device. This enables incoming requests on specific port numbers to reach devices such as Web Servers, Mail Servers, Digital Video Recorders (DVR) and gaming devices.  Port forwarding is setup by entering specific port(s).  This document describes how to gather the client IP address and setup port forwarding by entering specific port(s) in the SBG7600AC2.Â
Requirements
- Client device IP Address
- The port number(s) and protocol (TCP and/or UDP) of the service
After completing the Port Forwarding setup, it is recommended to reserve the IP address of the client device that was setup for port forwarding.  Please refer to Article # 18395 - SBG7600AC2: IP Address Reserve Setup.
Port Forwarding Setup
- Launch a web browser, such as Internet Explorer, Firefox, or Safari.  Enter http://192.168.0.1 into the address box, and press the Enter key.  The Login page will appear.
NOTE: A security or private risk alert may appear on the web browser advising users to proceed with caution when accessing the Web Manager. There is no risk in proceeding to the Web Manager. For instructions to by-pass the alert screen, refer to article # 18181 - Alert Message for Web Manager Access.  - On the Login page, enter admin in the User Name field.
 - Enter password or a customized password in the Password field.
NOTE: When using the default password to login, it may be required to set a unique password to proceed to the Web Manager. For assistance with Web Manager Access, refer to article # 18386 – SBG7600AC2: Web Manager Access.  - Click the Apply button.  The System Basic Setup window will appear.
 - On the System Basic Setup page, click the LAN Setup link on the top menu.  The LAN Settings page will appear.
 - On the LAN Settings page, click the Client List link on the left-hand menu.  The Client List page will appear.Â
 - On the Client List page, copy the client's IP Address under Attached Client List section to use for the Port Forwarding setup.
NOTE: The client may not be powered on or connect to the network if it's not found on the list.   - Click the Firewall link on the top menu.  The Firewall Settings page will appear.
 - On the Firewall Settings page, click the Virtual Server / Port Forwarding link on the left-hand menu.  The Virtual Server / Port Forwarding page will appear.Â
 - On the Virtual Servers/ Port Forwarding page, click the Add button.  The Add Virtual Server pop-up box will appear.
 - On the Add Virtual Server pop-up box, enter a name of the service in the Description field.
 - Enter the desired port number into both the Inbound Port fields.Â
NOTE:  When forwarding a range of ports, enter the start and end of the port range in the two fields.  - Click the Format drop-down menu and select the appropriate protocol (TCP, UDP, or Both).
 - Enter the client's IP address into the Private IP Address field.
 - Enter the same port numbers that were entered for Inbound Port in the Local Port fields.
 - Click the Add Virtual Server button.  The Virtual Server / Port Forwarding page will appear.
 - On the Virtual Servers / Port Forwarding page, the port forward entry will appear as shown.  Repeat steps 10 - 16 to forward additional ports.
NOTE: Changes take effect immediately and a restart is not required.
