The SBM1000 MoCA adapter kit consists of a SBM1100 adapter with one Ethernet port, and a SBM1400 that includes 4 Ethernet ports. The SBM1000 MoCA adapters can be integrated with a home network that connects to AT&T U-Verse Internet service. The MoCA adapters are compatible for use with a broadband router.Â

Before Installation
Before beginning the installation, verify that the following items are included with the SBM1000 MoCA Adapters.
Installing with a Separate Wi-Fi Router
-
Identify the room with the set-top box or Smart TV, as well as the room where the modem or gateway is located. Make sure that there is a coaxial cable connection in both rooms.
-
Verify that both of the MoCA adapters are powered off.
-
Locate the cable wall outlet and electrical wall outlet in the room with the set-top box or Smart TV.
-
Connect one of the coaxial cables (included) between the Coax In connector of the SBM1400 and the OUT connector on the RF splitter (included).
NOTE:Â If there is already a RF splitter in place, that splitter can be used instead of the RF splitter that is included in the box.
 -
Connect another coaxial cable (included) between the coaxial port of the TV or set-top box and the other OUT port of the RF splitter (included).
-
Connect one of the Ethernet cables (included) to one of the Ethernet ports of the SBM1400 and the Ethernet/network port of the Smart TV.Â
NOTE:Â Â If there are other networked A/V devices, connect other Ethernet cables (not included) from those devices to other Ethernet ports of the SBM1400.
 -
Connect the power adapter to the Power port of the SBM1400.
-
Plug the power adapter into the electrical wall outlet.
-
Go to the room where the modem/gateway and router are located.
-
Disconnect the coaxial cable from the residential modem/gateway and connect it to the In port on one of the RF splitters (included).
NOTE:Â If there is already a RF splitter in place, that splitter can be used instead of the RF splitter that is included in the box.
 -
Connect another coaxial cable (included) between the Coax In port of the SBM1100 and to one of the OUT connectors of the RF splitter (included).
-
Connect the MoCA Filter (included) to the coaxial port of the gateway.
-
Connect another Coaxial cable (included) to the other end of the MoCA Filter and the other OUT connector of the RF splitter (included).
-
Connect another Ethernet cable (included) between one of the LAN Ethernet ports of the wi-fi router and the Ethernet port of the SBM1100.
-
Connect one of the power adapters to the Power input of the SBM1100.
-
Plug the power adapter into the electrical wall outlet.
NOTE: The Coax LEDs on both MoCA adapters should turn on within three minutes to indicate that a secure coaxial link was established between the two adapters. If the Coax LED does not turn ON within four minutes, disconnect the power adapter from both MoCA adapters and then reconnect them.
Installing with a Gateway
-
Identify the room with the set-top box or Smart TV, as well as the room where the gateway is located. Make sure that there is a coaxial cable connection in both rooms.
-
Verify that both of the MoCA adapters are powered off.
-
Locate the cable wall outlet and electrical wall outlet in room with the set-top box or Smart TV.
-
Connect one of the coaxial cables (included) between the Coax In connector of the SBM1400 and the OUT connector on the RF splitter (included).
NOTE:Â If there is already a RF splitter in place, that splitter can be used instead of the RF splitter that is included in the box.
 -
Connect a second coaxial cable (included) to one of the coaxial connector on the TV or set-top box and the OUT connector on the RF splitter (included).
-
Connect one of the Ethernet cables (included) to one of the Ethernet ports of the SBM1400 and the Ethernet/network port of the Smart TV.Â
-
Go to the room where the gateway is located.
-
Disconnect the coaxial cable from the residential gateway, and connect it to the In port on one of the RF splitters (included).
-
Connect one of the Ethernet cables (included) between one of the LAN Ethernet ports of the gateway and the Ethernet port of the SBM1100.
-
Connect one of the power adapters to the Power port of the SBM1100.
-
Plug the power adapter into the electrical wall outlet.
NOTE: The Coax LEDs on both MoCA adapters should turn on within three minutes to indicate that a secure coaxial link was established between the two adapters. If the Coax LED does not turn ON within four minutes, disconnect the power adapter from both MoCA adapters and then reconnect them.
Installing with an Ethernet-connected Set-top Box
