Question
How do I change my Wi-Fi Security Key in the SBR-AC1750?
Answer
By default, the SBR-AC1750 is setup to use PSK, a wireless security with a specific string of character keys (sometimes referred to as the wireless password).  In this case, that string of character keys would need to be entered into a wireless client (such as a laptop or tablet) in order to have wireless connectivity.

At times, it may be desired to change the wireless key.  This can be accomplished by logging into the GUI (Graphical User Interface) of the SBR-AC1750.  This document describes how to change the wireless key for the 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz wireless networks of the SBR-AC1750. This document contains how to change the WPA/WPA2-PSK.

NOTE: The SBR-AC1750 will either be configured to use a WPA-PSK or WPA2-PSK key.

Changing the WPA/WPA2-PSK Key

  1. Launch a web browser, such as Internet Explorer, Firefox, or Safari. Enter http://192.168.0.1 into the address box, and press the Enter key.  The Login page appears.

NOTE: By default the LAN IP address is 192.168.0.1. If the default address has been changed, enter the custom address in the address box.

Right click on the image to save it to your computer.

  2. On the Login page:
    a.   Enter password in the Password field.
    b.   Click the Login button. The Home page appears.

Right click on the image to save it to your computer.

  3. On the Home page, click on Wireless.  The Wireless - Basic Setup page appears.

Right click on the image to save it to your computer.

  4. On the Wireless - Basic Setup page:
    a.  Select the desired frequency tab to modify (2.4 GHz or 5 GHz).

NOTE 1: Choosing the Wireless Interface only determines which frequency settings are desired to be modified.  The 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz frequencies are already enabled simultaneously by default.

NOTE 2: The 2.4 GHz frequency supports 802.11 b/g/n wireless clients, while the 5.0 GHz frequency supports 802.11n/ac wireless clients.  802.11n/ac devices will generally perform better in the 5GHz range.

NOTE 3: In this example, the 2.4 GHz frequency has been selected to modify.

    b.  PSK - Enter the desired WPA2 key (Wireless Pre-Shared Key) to use.  The WPA2 key must be 8 - 63 characters.
    c.  Click the Apply button.

NOTE:  A restart is not required, as the settings immediately take effect.

Right click on the image to save it to your computer.

To make a wireless connection, enter the same WPA/WPA2-PSK key into the wireless client:
