The SBR-AC1900P includes two USB ports, one USB 3.0 and one USB 2.0, connections for adding an external drive for file sharing or storage.  The USB port supports DLNA 1.5, Digital Media Server, and SAMBA for NAS Drive support.  In addition to supporting both 2.0 and 3.0 USB hard drives the USB port can be used as a charging connection for mobile devices up to 900mA at 5v.
NOTE 1: The USBÂ port does NOT support Internet connectionÂ
NOTE 2: The USB 2.0 port does NOT support portable USB 3.0 devices
When NAS Samba Service is enabled, the contents of the attached USB storage device will be accessible to the local area network (LAN) client with read-write permissions (public-access).
The DLNA Media Server feature when enabled, allows the media contents of the USB storage device to be accessible to any local area (LAN) client using a DLNA-certified player. Â Such as game console, smart TV, and media player. Â Â

- Connect the USB storage device to the USB port on the back of the SBR-AC1900P.
 - Power on the USB storage device if applicable.Â
 - Verify the LED is ON green below the USB port used.Â

- Launch a web browser, such as Internet Explorer, Firefox, or Safari. Enter http://192.168.0.1 into the address box, and press the Enter key. Â The Login page will appear.
 - On the Login page, enter admin in the Username field.
 - Enter password in the Password field.
 - Click the Login button.  The Home page will appear.
 - Move the mouse-cursor over Basic on the main menu, and click the USB Connect link on the sub-menu. The Basic - USB Connect page will appear.Â
 - On the Basic - USB Connect page, check mark the Enable box for Network Attached Storage (NAS) Samba Service.Â
 - Check mark the Enable box for DLNA Media Server.
 - Click the Apply button.

- Launch a web browser, such as Internet Explorer, Firefox, or Safari.  Enter \\192.168.0.1 into the address box, and press the Enter key.  The attached network device Share folder will appear.
 - Double-click the Share folder to access the contents.

- Launch the DLNA-certified player.
 - Browse and locate the SURFboard-MediaServer name.
 - Double-click SURFBoard-MediaServer to access the contents.
