Answer | Firmware is programming software that is written into the device to function. Â In some cases there may a need to update or enhance the product features. Â An update of the firmware may be beneficial to keep the product up to date. Â Before upgrading the firmware verify the current firmware in the SBR-AC3200P. Â This document contains the manual setup for the following sections:
- Launch a web browser, such as Internet Explorer, Firefox, or Safari.  Enter http://192.168.0.1 into the address box and press the Enter key.  The Login page appears.
NOTE: By default the LAN IP address is 192.168.0.1.  If the default address has been changed, enter the custom address in the address box.  - On the Login page, enter password in the Password field.
- Click the Login button.  The Home page appears.
 - Move the mouse-cursor over the Status tab and select the Product Information sub-link.  The Status - Product Information page appears. Â
- Verify the current firmware version as shown in the green box.
NOTE: Refer to the Firmware prompt at the beginning of the login to determine the firmware shown in the unit is up to date.
Download the Latest Firmware
- Launch a web browser, such as Internet Explorer, Firefox, or Safari. Enter arris.com/selfhelp into the address box and press the Enter Key.  The Welcome to ARRIS Consumer Support page appears.
- On the Welcome to ARRIS Consumer Support page, place the mouse cursor over SURFboard Cable Modems and Gateways and then click on Go to Models box.
- Move the mouse cursor over the SBR-AC3200P product and then click on Details box.
-  Click on the Drivers and Firmware tab.
NOTE: If the current firmware in the SBR-AC3200P matches the latest one on the site, the unit is up to date.  - Click the OK button on Select 'Save' when prompted. dialog box.
- Click the Save button on File Download dialog box.  The Save As window appears.
- On the Save As window,
a.   Save in - Select Desktop in the pull-down menu. b.   File name - Leave at default name SBR-AC3200P-1.0.8. c.   Save as type - Leave at default type, d.  Click the Save button.
- Launch a web browser, such as Internet Explorer, Firefox, or Safari.  Enter http://192.168.0.1 into the address box and press the Enter key.  The Login page appears.

- Click the Login button.  The Home page appears.
 - Move the mouse-cursor over the Status tab and select the Router Upgrade sub-link.  The Status - Router Upgrade page appears.
- On the Status - Router Upgrade page, click the Browse button.  The Choose File to Upload box appears.Â
 - On the Choose File to Upload box:
a.  Click on Desktop to select the firmware file SBR-AC3200P-1.0.8. b.  Click the Open button.  The Utilities - Firmware Upgrade page appears.  - On the Utilities - Firmware Upgrade page, click the Upgrade button.  The Confirmation pop-up window appears.
 - On the Confirmation pop-up window, click the OK button to continue with the firmware upgrade.  The Alert window appears.
 - On the Alert window, click the OK button to continue.
CAUTION: The router may be unresponsive to commands for 180 seconds.  Please do not turn off or reboot the router during this time.  - The router will begin updating the firmware.  Please allow up to few minutes for the router to update the firmware.
WARNING: Do not interrupt or unplug the router, doing so could render the router inoperable.  - On the Alert window, click the OK button to continue the firmware upgrade.
 - Once the router completes the firmware upgrade the Login page appears.
