Answer | The feature to turn on Energy Efficient Ethernet on the SBV3202 is available on firmware version 9.1.103AA65L and later.  During periods of low Internet activity, Energy Efficient Ethernet features reduces power consumption by 50% or more while retaining full compatibility with existing equipment. By default Energy Efficient Ethernet is disabled in the SBV3202. This document describes how to enable Energy Efficient Ethernet.
Enable Energy Efficient Ethernet
NOTE: If the SBV3202 is connected to a router, it is recommended to disconnect the router and connect the SBV3202 directly to a computer with an Ethernet cable.
- Launch a web browser, such as Internet Explorer, Firefox, or Safari.  Enter http://192.168.100.1 into the address box. The Login page will appear. Â
NOTE 1: A security or private risk alert may appear on the web browser advising users to proceed with caution when accessing the Web Manager.  There is no risk in proceeding to the Web Manager.  For instructions to by-pass the alert screen, refer to article # 18181 - Alert Message for Web Manager Access. NOTE 2: A login page may appear to access the Web Manager.  Enter the default username admin in the Username field and enter the default password password or customized password in the Password field.  For additional information, refer to article # 17705 – SBV3202: Web Manager Access.  - On the Login page, enter admin in the Username field.
 - Enter the custom password in the Password field then click the Send button. The Status page will appear.Â
 - Click the CM Feature link on the top menu. The CM Feature page will appear.
 - Click the Energy efficient ethernet drop-down menu and select Enable.
 - Click the Submit button.  Â
