Answer | NOTE: The SBX-AC1200P operates as a wireless extender out of the box. The remote access feature is setup in the primary router that manages the home network. If the SBX-AC1200P is operating as a wireless router, proceed with the instructions below to setup remote access.
By default, access to the SBX-AC1200PÂ configuration menu is only accessible from the local network. Â However, the SBX-AC1200PÂ can also be configured to be accessible from anywhere on the Internet by enabling Remote Access. Â This document contains the following sections:
NOTE: The ports used for local and remote access cannot be changed. Â

To Verify IP Address for Remote AccessÂ
NOTE: Like all devices on the Internet, the router has an IP Address on the Internet. Â The WAN IP Address is assigned dynamically, verify with the Service Provider for the correct IP Address.Â
- Connect a Wi-Fi client device, such as a laptop, smart phone or tablet, to the SBX-AC1200P default wireless network.Â
NOTE: The default wireless name and password are located on the back panel of the SBX-AC1200P.  - Launch a web browser, such as Internet Explorer, Firefox, or Safari. Enter http://192.168.0.1 into the address box, and press the Enter key. The Login page will appear.
- On the Login page, enter admin in the Username field.
- Enter password in the Password field.
- Click the Login button.  The Home page will appear.
  - Move the mouse-cursor over Basic on the main menu and click the Setup link on the sub-menu.  The Basic - Setup page will appear.
 - On the Basic - Setup page, locate the WAN IP Address as shown below.

NOTE: The WAN IP Address will be used to establish a remote access.

To Enable Remote Access
- Connect a Wi-Fi client device, such as a laptop, smart phone or tablet, to the SBX-AC1200P default wireless network.Â
NOTE: The default wireless name and password are located on the back panel of the SBX-AC1200P.  - Launch a web browser, such as Internet Explorer, Firefox, or Safari. Enter http://192.168.0.1 into the address box, and press the Enter key. The Login page will appear.
- On the Login page, enter admin in the Username field.
- Enter password in the Password field.

Click the Login button.  The Home page will appear.

- Move the mouse-cursor over Advanced on the main menu  and select the Options link on the sub-menu.  The Advanced - Options page will appear.
 - On the Advanced - Options page, check the Enable option for Remote Config Management.
NOTE:Â A red warning will inform the user that Remote Management is turned on. Â - On the Warning pop-up window, click the OK button.

Click the Apply button.

NOTE: A restart is not necessary, as the settings will immediately take effect.

To Establish Remote Access
- Locate the WAN IP Address.Â

NOTE: Reference the WAN IP Address from the To Verify IP Address For Remote Access section.

- From a remote location, launch a web browser, such as Internet Explorer, Firefox, or Safari.  Enter http://Wan IP Address into the address box, press the Enter key.  The Login page appears.
- On the Login page, enter admin in the Username field.
- Enter password in the Password field.
- Click the Login button. Â The Home page will appear.
