Answer | The WPS (Wireless Protected Setup) feature allows wireless clients and the SBX-AC1200P to establish a wireless connection with a push of a button or by exchanging a pin code. WPS and WPA-PSK (Wireless Protected Access) wireless encryption are enabled by default in the SBX-AC1200P. WPS automatically generates a new strong WPA key for the Gateway and any WPS client devices on the wireless network. The SBX-AC1200P supports two types of WPS: PIN Entry and PBC (Push Button Connection). This document provides information on both:
Requirements
- Wireless client must support WPS.
- The client's WPS must support hardware or software Push-button.
NOTE 1: Not all client wireless devices support WPS. Please refer to the wireless client's documentation.
NOTE 2: Older, non-WPS clients can still be added to the network by configuring them with WEP or WPA-PSK encryption. Â WEP wireless encryption is no longer available on firmware version 1.0.5-B05 and later.Â
Enable WPS PBCNOTE: Steps 2 - 12 (static IP address setup) are applicable on Windows 10, 8 & 7. Â
- Connect a computer with the Ethernet cable or to the SBX-AC1200P default wireless network.  The default wireless name and password are located on the back panel of the SBX-AC1200P. Â
NOTE: If the SBX-AC1200P is operating as a wireless router, client devices can only connect to the SBX-AC1200P default wireless network because the Ethernet port is used for connecting a modem device.  Connect the Wi-Fi client to the SBX-AC1200P default wireless network and click here to skip to step 13.    - Click the Window's Start button and type Network and Sharing Center in the Search box.
