Question
How do I setup my SBX-AC1200P not to broadcast a wireless network?
Answer
With a closed network, the wireless network (SSID) will not broadcast.  Users are required to type the SSID into the client application, instead of selecting the SSID from the wireless network available list.  By default, the SSID is set to broadcast and it can be detected by the wireless clients.  This document describes how to disable the 2.4 GHz wireless network (SSID) from broadcasting.

CAUTION: In order to configure the SBX-AC1200P to not broadcast a wireless network (SSID), the Automatic Security Configuration (WPS) feature must be disabled.

To Configure Closed System Network

NOTE: Steps 2 - 12 (static IP address setup) are applicable on Windows 10, 8 & 7.
  1. Connect a computer with the Ethernet cable or to the SBX-AC1200P default wireless network.  The default wireless name and password are located on the back panel of the SBX-AC1200P.

NOTE: If the SBX-AC1200P is operating as a wireless router, client devices can only connect to the SBX-AC1200P default wireless network because the Ethernet port is used for connecting a modem device.  Connect the Wi-Fi client to the SBX-AC1200P default wireless network and click here to skip to step 13.

  2. Click the Window's Start button and type Network and Sharing Center in the Search box.

  3. Click on the Network and Sharing Center icon.  The Network and Sharing Center window will appear.
