Answer | NOTE: This article applies to the Arris SURFboard mAX Mesh products (PRO, PLUS, DASH, Express), SURFboard Cable Modems (S33, S34, SB6121, SB6141, SB6183, SB6190, SB8200, SBV3202, SBV2402, T25), and SURFboard Wi-Fi Cable Modems (G34, G36, G54, SBG10, SBG6950AC2, SBG7400AC2, SBG7580-AC, SBG7600AC2, SBG8300), and SURFboard Extenders (W6B, W6U).
The SURFboard Central app supports 2 devices (combination of modem/router, modem/extender, gateway/extender, gateway/router, and or router/extender) at the same location. When replacing an existing SURFboard cable modem or gateway, simply remove the device and add another device. This document contains the following sections:
NOTE: If this is the first time setting up the SURFboard Central app with a SURFboard Cable Modem or gateway, please refer to article # 18756 - SURFboard Central: Modem Setup or article # 18840 - SURFboard Central: Wi-Fi Cable Modem Setup.
Remove Device
- Tap the Menu bar link on the top-left screen.
  - Tap the Remove Device button.Â
 Â - Tap the device to remove, then tap the Next button.Â
 Â - On the pop-up box, tap the Yes button to delete the device.Â
NOTE: Removing the mAX router from the SURFboard Central app will disassociate it. Perform factory reset and onboarding the mAX router again is required.   - To set up another device, tap either the SURfboard Mesh, SURFboard Gateway, SURFboard Modem, and or 6GHz Enabled Devices box, then tap the Next button to follow the screens.Â

Add Device
- Tap the Menu bar link on the top-left screen.
 Â - Tap the Add Device button.Â
  - Tap either the SURfboard Mesh, SURFboard Gateway, SURFboard Modem, and or 6GHz Enabled Devices box, then tap the Next button to follow the screens.Â
 NOTE - For assistance to onboard the mAX Dash, W21, and or W30/W31 router with a Cable modem, refer to article # 18919 - mAX Dash: Cable Modem Internet Setup, # 18668 - mAX W21: Cable Modem Internet Setup, and or 18251 - W30/W31: Cable Modem Internet Setup to begin with the Please Select Your Home Network Configuration screen.
Greyed Out Add Device
- Tap the Menu bar link on the top-left screen.
 Â - The Add Device button is greyed out when 2 devices are added (combination of modem/router, modem/extender, gateway/extender, gateway/router, and or router/extender) at the same location.
