Answer | NOTE: This article applies to the SURFboard Wi-Fi Cable Modems (G18, G20, G34, G36, G54, SBG10, SBG6950AC2, SBG7400AC2, SBG7580-AC, SBG7600AC2, SBG8300).
Band Steering periodically checks Wi-Fi devices connected to the 2.4 GHz or 5 GHz band and steers them to faster available 5 GHz or 6 GHz bands. The Wi-Fi clients may experience a brief interruption when they are being steered. Band Steering requires the Wi-Fi network to share the same (SSID) and Wi-Fi password across the 2.4 GHz, 5 GHz, and 6 GHz networks. This document describes how to disable and enable Band Steering using the Web Manager.
This document contains the following sections:
Enable Band Steering

 - Tap the Network Management box.
 - Tap the Main Wi-Fi Network + button to expand the card, then swipe the Enable single SSID for 2.4G/5G bands to the right.
