Answer | NOTE: This article applies to the SURFboard Wi-Fi Cable Modems (G18, G20, G34, G36, G54, SBG8300).The Guest Wi-Fi network is a separate network that guest's devices connect to for Internet access. The Gateway can be configured to broadcast guest Wi-Fi networks over the 2.4 GHz, 5 GHz, and 6 GHz (for supported device) radio bands. The use of a separate Guest Wi-Fi network enhances network security while preventing communication to the main Wi-Fi network and Ethernet-connected client devices. Â
The default Guest Wi-Fi network name (SSID) includes the word Guest (i.e. G34Guest-D635-5G). The Wi-Fi network name (SSID) and Wi-Fi password can be customized. This document contains the following sections:
Enable Guest Wi-Fi Network

   - Tap the Network Management box.
 - Tap the Guest Wi-Fi Network + button to expand the card. Â
 - Tap the 5GHz or 2.4GHz radio band.
NOTE: By default, the radio band tabs are unavailable on the G54 because the G54 broadcasts one Wi-Fi network name (SSID) simultaneously over the 2.4 GHz, 5 GHz (High), 5 GHz (Low), and 6 GHz radio bands.  - Swipe the Enable/Disable Guest Network to the right to enable.
 - On the Alert box, tap the OK button.

- WPA2-PSK (AES)Â -Â Wi-Fi Protected Access version 2 with Pre-Shared Key. Â Provides the best security for your network (recommended).
- WPA3 Personal (AES) - Wi-Fi Protected Access version 3 with personal security key (Highest level of security).
- WPA2/WPA3 Mixed Personal (AES) - Combination of Wi-Fi Protected Access versions 2 and 3 with personal security key.Â
NOTE: WPA3 Personal (AES) and WPA2/WPA3 Mixed Personal (AES) Security Type are only available on the G34, G36, and G54 gateways.
