SURFboard Central: Disable Guest Wi-Fi Network

Question
How do I disable the Guest Wi-Fi network?
Answer
NOTE: This article applies to the SURFboard Wi-Fi Cable Modems (G18, G20, G34, G36, G54, SBG8300).

The Gateway's Guest Wi-Fi is disabled by default (enabled by default on the SBG8300).  The Guest Wi-Fi network names (also known as SSID) and Wi-Fi passwords are available in the SURFboard Central app when the Guest Wi-Fi network is enabled.  This document describes how to disable the Guest Wi-Fi network in the SURFboard Central app. 


Disable Guest Wi-Fi Network
  1. Tap the My Network icon at the bottom of the screen.

  2. Tap the Network Management box.

  3. Tap the Guest Wi-Fi Network + button to expand the card.

    NOTE: The 5GHz tab is selected by default for the 5 GHz band.
     
  4. Swipe the Enable/Disable Guest Network to the left to disable.

  5. On the Alert box, tap the OK button.

  6. The settings are taking effect.

  7. Enable/Disable Guest Network is disabled now for the 5 GHz band.  Tap the 2.4 GHz tab and repeat Steps 3 - 5 to disable the 2.4 GHz Guest Network.
