Question
How do I pause the Internet?
Answer
NOTE: This article applies to the SURFboard Wi-Fi Cable Modems (G18, G20, G34, G36, G54, SBG8300).

The Gateway includes functionality to instantly pause and unpause Internet access to client devices in the Parental Control profiles.  When the Internet is paused on Parental Control profile(s), the associated client devices are unable to load web pages or apps and are disconnected from the Gateway's Wi-Fi network.  This document contains the following sections:

Requirement
Parental Control setup is required to create user profiles and associate devices to the profile.  For assistance refer to article 18902 - SURFboard Central: Parental Control Setup.   


Pause Internet to Parental Control Profiles
  1. Tap the My Experiences box on the Home screen.

  2. Tap the Parental Control box.

  3. Under the User Profiles section, swipe the Pause Internet slider to the right of each profile.

    NOTE: To pause all profiles, tap the Global Setting + to expand the card.  Swipe the Pause All Profiles slider to the right and then tap the Yes, Pause Internet link.

Currently Blocked List
Tap the Currently Blocked tab in the Parental Control screen to view Parental Control profiles that are paused from the Internet.
