Question
How do I check to see what devices are connected to my Gateway?
Answer
NOTE: This article applies to the SURFboard Wi-Fi Cable Modems (G34, G36, G54, SBG10, SBG6950AC2, SBG7400AC2, SBG7580-AC, SBG7600AC2, SBG8300).

The SURFboard Central app displays network information (i.e., connection status, IP address, and MAC address) for each client device connected to the Home network.  This document describes how to view the connected client devices in the Gateway network.
 
View Connected Devices
  1. On the Home screen, the My Devices box displays the total client devices connected to the Gateway home network.  Tap the My Devices box, to see the list.

  2. The Devices screen displays the connected client devices.  Tap the + button on a specific client to display the client device's information.

    NOTE 1: Pull down the screen to refresh the connected client device list.

    NOTE 2: To edit the device name and Type, tap the pencil icon.
  • 2.4GHz, 5GHz, or 6GHz - The Wi-Fi band the Wi-Fi client is connected to.  
  • Signal Bar - The Wi-Fi signal strength of the Wi-Fi connection.
  • IP Address - The IP Address of the client device.
  • MAC Address - The MAC Address of the client device.
  • Channel - The Wi-Fi channel of the Wi-Fi connection.  
  • Status - Online status of the client device.
  • RSSI - Received Signal Strength Indicator (RSSI) is an estimated measurement of how well a Wi-Fi client device can hear, detect, and receive signals from the Wi-Fi router.  -30 or higher is excellent and -90 or lower is extremely weak.

  1. Tap the Offline tab on the Devices screen to view the list of offline devices.
