Answer | When using a wireless connection, interference may occur.  One variable may include other Wireless Access Points within the surrounding area using the same wireless channel.  In order to reduce or eliminate the wireless interference, change the Wi-Fi band channel of the SURFboard Wi-Fi product. The Wi-Fi channel can be changed using the SURFboard Management App on compatible SURFboard Wi-Fi products. This document describes how to change the Wi-Fi channel using the SURFboard Management App.
Changing The Wi-Fi Channel
- Tap the SURFboard icon.  The Login screen will appear.
 - On the Login screen, enter admin in the Username field and password in the Password field.
NOTE: If the default login credentials were previously changed please enter those custom credentials.  If the customized login credentials are forgotten, a factory reset must be performed by pressing the reset button for more than 10 seconds on the SURFboard Wi-Fi product.  This will reset all customized settings back to the original default settings.  - Tap the Login button.  The ARRIS home screen will appear.
 - Tap the Menu icon on the top-left corner. The sliding menu will appear.
 - Tap the Wi-Fi Settings link. The Wi-Fi Settings screen will appear.
 - Scroll down to the Advanced Settings section and tap Edit on the band to change. The Edit W-Fi Radio screen will appear.
NOTE: The 2.4 GHz band is selected for illustration purposes.  - Tap the Channel drop-down menu and select one of the new channels that is displayed, then tap the Save button. The SURFboard pop-up prompt will appear.
 - On the SURFboard prompt, tap the OK button. The Unable to fetch information prompt will appear.
 - On the Unable to fetch information prompt, tap the OK button. The SURFboard pop-up prompt will appear.
 - On the SURFboard pop-up prompt tap the OK button. The Login screen will appear.
 - Reconnect the mobile device to the existing SSID and login.
NOTE: Repeat step 5 - 8 to change the 5 GHz Wi-Fi channel.
