Answer | NOTE: This article applies to the following SURFboard Wi-Fi Cable Modems (SBG10, SBG6950AC2, SBG7400AC2, SBG7580-AC with firmware version 9.1.103AA18 or higher, and SBG7600AC2) and the SURFboard RipCurrent Products (SBR-AC1200P, SBR-AC1900P, SBR-AC3200P and SBX-AC1200P)When setting up a SURFboard W-Fi product for the first time, the ARRIS SURFboard Manager app provides steps to setup the product, and offers users the ability to manage SURFboard Wi-Fi products directly from a mobile device.  Scan the QR code on the bottom of the SURFboard Wi-Fi product with the SURFboard Manager app to automatically connect the mobile device.  The SURFboard Wi-Fi product's Wi-Fi Network Name (SSID) and Wi-Fi Password (Key) can also be entered manually into the SURFBoard app to connect the mobile device. Once the mobile device is connected, the app can be used to view connected devices in the home network, manage parental controls and wireless networks. This document describes how to setup the SURFboard Manager app for connection setup.The ARRIS SURFboard Manager mobile app for Android is available on the Google Play Store at no charge.
Requirements:
- SURFboard Wi-Fi products with Internet access.
- ​The Android device must be connected to the Wi-Fi network of the SURFboard Wi-Fi products.

- Access the Google Play Store to search for ARRIS SURFboard Manager and download the app.Â
 - Tap the SURFboard icon. The Terms and Services screen will appear.
 - Review the Terms and Services, then tap the I understand and agree button. The Welcome to the ARRIS SURFboard Manager screen will appear.
 - Tap the Setup my Wireless Gateway Device button. The Begin setup by plugging in your device screen will appear.
 - Tap the OK, continue button. The Connect the Cable screen will appear.
 - Tap the OK, continue button. The Scan the QR code on your device screen will appear.
 - Choose Scan QR code or Skip and setup manually to connect to the wireless network.
Scan QR Code
- ​Tap the Scan QR code button. The Scan your label screen will appear.
 - Scan the QR code located on the bottom of the SURFboard Wi-Fi product. The Select Wi-Fi Network screen will appear.
 - The Select network and Password fields will be auto-populated. Tap the Continue button. The Connecting to Wireless Gateway screen will appear.Â
NOTE: Connecting with a QR code will only work if the default Wi-Fi and login credentials are used.  - Tap the Continue button. The Login to your Wireless Gateway screen will appear.
 - The Username and Password fields will be auto-populated. Check the box for Please remember credentials for future access to automatically save the login credentials.
 - Tap the Login button. The Select your time zone screen will appear.
 - Tap the Select your time zone link. The Time Zone screen will appear.
 - Select the current time zone, then tap Done button. The Select your time zone screen will return.
 - Check the box for Automatically adjust for Daylight Saving Time to automatically adjust for Daylight Saving Time.
 - Tap the Continue button.  The Change Password screen will appear.
 - On the Change Password screen, tap the Skip button to keep the current login password, and skip to step 16. To change the current login password, continue to step 12.
 - In the New password field, enter the new password.
 - In the Re-type new password field, re-enter the new password.
 - Tap the Continue button. The SURFboard prompt will appear.
 - On the SURFboard prompt, tap on OK. The SURFboard home screen will appear.
 - The SURFboard home screen displays the Internet, Wi-Fi, and Devices status. In addition to the Wi-Fi product's SSID.
Skip and Setup Manually
- Tap the Skip and setup manually button. The Select Wi-Fi Network screen will appear.
 - Tap the Select network drop-down menu to select the SSID of the SURFboard Wi-Fi product.
 - Enter the SURFboard's Wi-Fi Security Key into the Password field.
 - Tap the Continue button. The Connecting to the Wireless Gateway screen will appear.
 - Tap the Continue button. The Login to your Wireless Gateway screen will appear.Â
 - Enter admin in the Username field and password in the Password field.
 - Check the box for Please remember credentials for future access to automatically save the login credentials.
 - Tap the Login button.  The Select your time zone screen will appear.
 - Tap the Select your time zone link. The Time Zone screen will appear.
 - Select the current time zone, then tap Done button. The Select your time zone screen will return.
 - Check the box for Automatically adjust for Daylight Saving Time to automatically adjust for Daylight Saving Time.
 - Tap the Continue button.  The Change Password screen will appear.
 - On the Change Password screen, tap the Skip button to keep the current login password, and skip to step 18. To change the current login password, continue to step 14.
 - In the New password field, enter the new password.
 - In the Re-type new password field, re-enter the new password.
 - Tap the Continue button. The SURFboard prompt will appear.
 - On the SURFboard prompt, tap on OK. The SURFboard home screen will appear.
