Question
How do I create a rule to restrict web browsing on a device using the SURFboard Manager app?
Answer
The SURFboard Parental Control feature provides the ability to create a rule to restrict specific client devices (e.g. computer, gaming console, tablet) from web browsing.  Web browsing uses port 80 which can be blocked for certain times of the day, certain days of the week, or at all times.  Other services such as email will still remain active.  The rule created in the SURFboard Manager App will automatically be pushed to the SURFboard Wi-Fi product.  By default, the Parental Controls feature is disabled in the SURFboard Wi-Fi products.  This document describes how to use the ARRIS SURFboard Manager App to restrict one device from web browsing at a specific time of day, and how to remove that restriction.

NOTE:  When using the SURFboard Manager app to configure the SBG6950AC2, SBG7400AC2, or SBG7580-AC, the Parental Controls feature is configured using the McAfee® Secure Home Internet app.  The McAfee® Secure Home Internet app for Android is available on the Google Play Store at no charge.
