Answer | When using a wireless connection, interference may occur.  One variable may include other Wireless Access Points within the surrounding area using the same wireless channel. To reduce or eliminate wireless interference, it may be necessary to change the 2.4 GHz or 5 GHz Wi-Fi channel in the SVG2482AC being used by the affected Wi-Fi clients.  The Wi-Fi Spectrum Analyzer tool (located in the SVG2482AC Web Manager) scans nearby access points and occupied Wi-Fi channels.  The tool is used for identifying the least used Wi-Fi channel and determining the best available Wi-Fi channel to select.  By default, the Wi-Fi channels for 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz are set at Auto.  This document describes how to change the Wi-Fi channel for the 2.4 GHz or 5 GHz radios.To Change the Wireless Channel
- Launch a web browser, such as Internet Explorer, Firefox, or Safari. Enter http://10.0.0.1 into the address box, and press the Enter key. The Login page will appear.
 - On the Login page, enter admin in the Username field.
 - Enter password in the Password field then click the Login button.  The Gateway > At a Glance page will appear.
NOTE: A prompt to change the password appears when the SVG2482AC is using the default password. To change the password click the OK button or click the Cancel button to bypass it.  - In the left-hand menu, click the Connected Devices link.  The Connected Devices > Devices page will appear.
 - In the Online Devices section, locate the Wi-Fi client that is experiencing interference and check the SSID (Wi-Fi 2.4G or Wi-Fi 5G) it is connected to under Connection.
NOTE: The SSID can also be checked on Wi-Fi client network settings.  - Once the SSID is determined, click the Troubleshooting link in the left-hand menu. The Troubleshooting > Logs page will appear.
 - Click the Wi-Fi Spectrum Analyzer link on the sub-menu.  The Troubleshooting > Wi-Fi Spection Analyzer page will appear.
To Change the Wi-Fi Channel for the Wi-Fi 2.4G
- ​On the Troubleshooting > Wi-Fi Spectrum Analyzer page, locate the 2.4 GHz section to determine the most congested Wi-Fi channels.  The least congested channel would be best to use.    Â
NOTE: In the example below, channel 6 is highly congested and channel 1 is moderately congested. Â The best available channel is 11 or the channels not in use. Â - On the left-hand menu, click the Gateway link. Â The Gateway > At a Glance page will appear.
 - Click the Connections link, then click the Wi-Fi sub-menu link.  The Gateway > Connection > Wi-Fi page will appear.
 - Click the Edit button for the 2.4GHz Frequency Band.  The Gateway > Connection > Wi-Fi Edit 2.4 GHz page will appear.Â
 - On the Gateway > Connection > Wi-Fi Edit 2.4 GHz page, select the Manual bullet point for the Channel Selection field.
 - Select a channel from the Channel drop-down menu other than what is displayed.
NOTE 1: It is recommended to leave the Channel Selection Automatic and restart the SVG2482AC.  The best Wi-Fi channel will be selected upon restart.  Keep in mind that the connected Wi-Fi clients temporarily lose Internet connection when the SVG2482AC is restarting. NOTE 2: When choosing to manually set the Wi-Fi channel, it is recommended to set the channel to 1, 6, or 11 for better performance and stability because they do not overlap.  Other Wi-Fi channels overlap and degrade performance.  - Leave the default setting of 20 MHz on the Channel Bandwidth field to increase the amount of data that the Wi-Fi network can carry.   Â
NOTE: The standard bandwidth for the 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi network is 20 MHz. Â Â

To Change the Wi-Fi Channel for the Wi-Fi 5G
- On the Troubleshooting > Wi-Fi Spectrum Analyzer page, scroll down to the 5GHz section to determine the most congested Wi-Fi channels. Â The least congested channel would be best to use.
NOTE: In the example below, channel 36 is highly congested and channel 157Â is moderately congested. Â The best available channel is 44Â or the channels not in use. Â - On the left-hand menu, click the Gateway link. Â The Gateway > At a Glance page will appear.
 - Click the Connections link, then click the Wi-Fi sub-menu link.  The Gateway > Connection > Wi-Fi page will appear.
 - Click the Edit button for the 5GHz Frequency Band.  The Gateway > Connection > Wi-Fi Edit 5 GHz page will appear.Â
