Answer | The SVG2482AC Parental Control feature provides the ability to block client devices from accessing specific Internet websites (URLs). Â Websites can also be blocked containing specific keywords used. Â Both blocked website (URL) and keywords work injunction together. Â These specific Internet websites are blocked on all client devices in the home network. Â
The client devices can also be blocked for a specific time or day. Â When client devices are setup as Trusted Computers, they will bypass Parental Control. Â By default, Parental Control is disabled with no restriction, which allows access to Internet websites on all client devices. Â This document contains the following sections:
Block Website and Keyword
- Launch a web browser, such as Internet Explorer, Firefox, or Safari.  Enter http://10.0.0.1 into the address box, and press the Enter key. The Login page will appear.
 - On the Login page, enter admin in the Username field.
 - Enter password in the Password field then click the Login button.  The Gateway > At a Glance page will appear.
NOTE: A prompt to change the password appears when the SVG2482AC is using the default password. To change the password click the OK button or click the Cancel button to bypass it.  - On the left-hand menu, click the Parental Control link.  The Parental Control > Managed Sites page will appear.
 - Click the Enable button for the Managed Sites option then click the +Add button for Blocked Sites.  The Parental Control > Managed Sites > Add Blocked Domain page will appear.
 - On the Parental Control > Managed Sites > Add Blocked Domain page, enter the website to block in the URL field.
NOTE: The URL must start with "http://" or "https://".  - Click the No button for the Always Block? option to setup specific time or day to block access.Â
NOTE: To always block access, leave at default setting to Yes and proceed to step 11.  - Click the Start from drop-down menus to select the start time.
 - Click the End on drop-down menus to select the end time.
 - Click the days for the Set Blocked Days option.
 - Click the Save button.  Settings will take effect immediately.  The Parental Control > Managed Sites page will appear.Â
 - The website entry will appear below Blocked Sites section.  To add additional websites to block, repeat steps 5 - 11.Â
 - To block keywords, click the +Add button for Blocked Keywords.  The Parental Control > Managed Sites > Add Blocked Keyword page will appear.  Otherwise, click here to proceed without adding keywords.
 - On the Parental Control > Managed Sites > Add Blocked Keyword page, enter the keyword to block in the Keyword field.
 - Click the No button for the Always Block? option to setup specific time or day to block access.Â
NOTE: To always block access, leave at default setting to Yes and proceed to step 19.  - Click the Start from drop-down menus to select the start time.
 - Click the End on drop-down menus to select the end time.
 - Click the days for the Set Blocked Days option.
 - Click the Save button.  Settings will take effect immediately.  The Parental Control > Managed Sites page will appear.Â
 - The keyword entry will appear below Blocked Keywords section.  To add additional keywords to block, repeat steps 13 - 19.Â
NOTE: To bypass Parental Control, click the Yes button next to the client device to be a Trusted Computer. Â - Close all web browsers that are open on the devices, and then reopen them for the settings to take effect.Â
Remove Block Website or Keyword
- Launch a web browser, such as Internet Explorer, Firefox, or Safari.  Enter http://10.0.0.1 into the address box, and press the Enter key. The Login page will appear.
 - On the Login page, enter admin in the Username field.
 - Enter password in the Password field then click the Login button.  The Gateway > At a Glance page will appear.

 - Click the X button next to the blocked website or keyword to be removed.  A pop-up message box will appear.
 - On the pop-up message box, click the OK button.  The Parental Control > Managed Sites page will appear.
 - The blocked website or keyword is now removed.
 - Repeat steps 5 - 7 to remove additional blocked website or keyword. Â
