The TG862 includes the Parental Control Managed Devices option that prevents devices from sending outgoing TCP/UDP traffic to the WAN via their MAC addresses.  This option has the ability to block access for all times or for a specified amount of time.  The Parental Control Managed Devices is enabled by default and allows all devices to connect for all times. This document describes how to block a device from connecting to the Internet for a specified amount of time.

To Block a Device
- Launch a web browser, such as Internet Explorer, Firefox, or Safari. Enter http://10.0.0.1 into the address box, and press the Enter key. The Login page appears.
NOTE: By default the LAN IP address is 10.0.0.1. If the default address has been changed, enter the custom address in the address box.
 - On the Login page:
a.  Enter admin in the Username field.
b.  Enter password in the Password field.Â
c.   Click the Login button. The Gateway > At a Glance page appears.
 - On the left-hand menu, click on Parental Control.  A sub-menu appears.
- On the sub-menu, click on Managed Devices.. The Parental Control > Manged Devices page appears.
- On the Parental Control > Managed Devices page, click the +Add Blocked Device button for Blocked Devices.  The Parental Control > Managed Devices > Add Blocked Device page appears.
 - On the Parental Control > Managed Devices > Add Blocked Device page:
a.  Set Blocked Device - Select the desired device to be blocked.
b.  Always Blocked? - Select the No option.Â
c. Â Start from - Enter the start of time period to restrict.
d.  End on - Enter the end of time period to restrict.
e.  Set Block Days -  Click Select All to block all days of the week or click the check box of the desired days to block.
f. Â Â Click the Save button. Â The Parental Control > Managed Devices page appears.
      NOTE 1: In this example device named xcwt5x, is blocked from 8:00 A.M. to 5:00 P.M. Monday - Friday.
   NOTE 2: Repeat steps 5 - 6 for any additional devices.Â
 - On the Parental Control > Managed Devices page, verify that the restriction rule is displayed.

Removing a Blocked Device

- Enter admin in the Username field
- Enter motorola in the Password field.
- Click the password button. The Gateway > At a Glance page appears.
 - On the left-hand menu, click on Parental Control.  A sub-menu appears.
- On the sub-menu, click on Managed Devices.  The Parental Control > Managed Devices page appears.
- On the Parental Control > Managed Device page, locate the desired device to be removed, and click the X button.
- A pop-up box appears asking, "Are you sure you want to Delete This Device?" click the OK button.
NOTE:Â A reboot is not required for the settings to take effect.
