With a closed network, the wireless network (SSID) will not broadcast. Users are required to type the SSID into the client application, instead of selecting the SSID from the wireless network available list. By default, the SSID is set to broadcast and it can be detected by the wireless clients. This document describes how to disable the wireless network (SSID) from broadcasting.
To Configure Closed System Network
- Launch a web browser, such as Internet Explorer, Firefox, or Safari. Enter http://10.0.0.1 into the address box, and press the Enter key. The Login page appears.
NOTE: By default the LAN IP address is 10.0.0.1. If the default address has been changed, enter the custom address in the address box.
 - On the Login page:
a.  Enter admin in the Username field.
b.  Enter password in the Password field.
c.   Click the Login button. The Gateway > At a Glance page appears.
 - On the left-hand menu, click on Connection. A sub-menu appears.
- On the sub-menu, click on WiFi. The Gateway > Connection > WiFi page appears.
- On the Gateway > Connection > WiFI page, click the EDIT button. The Gateway > Connection > WiFI > Edit 2.4 GHz page appears.
 - On the Gateway > Connection > Wireless > Edit 2.4 GHz page:
a. Broadcast Network Name (SSID) - Uncheck the Enabled box.
b.  Click the Save Settings button.
NOTE 1:Â A reboot of the unit is not required for changes to take effect.Â
NOTE 2:Â Be sure to copy down the Network Name (SSID).
The TG862 is now configured in a closed system network. The SSID will not broadcast. Please refer to the wireless vendor for assistance with manually configuring a wireless client.
