The Backup and Restore feature in the TG862 allows users to save and restore the configuration settings locally on a computer. This document contains the following sections:
To Backup the TG862 Configuration
CAUTION: It is highly recommended to perform backup configuration with the TG862's default login username and password.

Launch a web browser, such as Internet Explorer, Firefox, or Safari.  Enter http://192.168.0.1 into the address box, and press the Enter key. The Login page appears.
NOTE:Â By default the LAN IP address is 192.168.0.1. Â If the default address has been changed, enter the custom address in the address box.

On the Login page:
a.  Enter admin in the Username field.
b.  Enter password in the Password field.Â
c.   Click the Login button.  The System Basic Setup page appears.

On the top-menu, click the Utilities tab.  The Status page appears.

On the left-hand menu, click on Save/Backup Settings.  The Save/Backup Settings page appears.

On the Save/Backup Settings page, click the Save button.

Click the Save button when the prompt from the web browser (e.g. Internet Explorer, Firefox) appears, to save the router.data file to the computer.

To Restore the TG862 Configuration
CAUTION:Â This process may interrupt network and/or telephony connections.

Launch a web browser, such as Internet Explorer, Firefox, or Safari.  Enter http://192.168.0.1 into the address box, and press the Enter key. The Login page appears.

On the Login page:
a.  Enter admin in the Username field.

c.   Click the Login button.  The System Basic Setup page appears.

On the top-menu, click the Utilities tab.  The Status page appears.

On the left-hand menu, click on Restore Settings.  The Restore Settings page appears.

On the Restore Settings page, click the Browse button.  The system window appears.

In the system window, browse to the location of the router.data file, and select that file. Â The system window will disappear.

Back on the Restore Settings page, click the Restore Chosen File button.

Click the OK button when the following message appears: This will restore your router saved state. Â Current connections and telephony may be interrupted.
