Question
Where is the wireless network key located on my TG862G?
Answer

The default wireless network key (also known as the network password) is located on a white label at the bottom of the TG862. By default, the TG862 is configured for a wireless connection using WPA-PSK encryption.  If the Wi-Fi Security key has been changed in the TG862, it can be retrieved by logging into the Graphical User Interface (GUI) of the TG862.

This document describes how to locate the default wireless network key on the gateway, and also how to locate the wireless network key if it has been changed.

To Lookup the Default Wireless Network Key

  1. Turn the gateway over with the bottom facing up and or to the side.  The wireless network key will be displayed as the Network Key (as seen below).

NOTE:  The Pre-Shared Key consists of capital letters and numbers.

NOTE: By default the LAN IP address is 192.168.0.1.  If the default address has been changed, enter the custom address in the address box.

  2. On the Login page:
    a.   Enter admin in the Username field.
    b.   Enter password in the Password field.
    c.   Click the Login button.  The System Basic Setup page appears.
    d.   On the System Basic Setup page, the wireless network key will be listed as the Pre-Shared Key.

NOTE:  The Pre-Shared Key consists of capital letters and numbers.
