When provisioning the modem, the Cable service provider may request the MAC address of the modem. Â The label on the bottom of the TM822 contains the Media Access Control (MAC) address, a unique, 48-bit value permanently saved in ROM at the factory to identify each Ethernet network device. Â To receive data service, the MAC address marked CMAC will need to be provided to the Internet Service Provider. Â This document includes the following sections:

The MAC Address can be located on a white sticker on the bottom of the device.Â

Launch a web browser, such as Internet Explorer, Firefox, or Safari. Enter http://192.168.100.1 into the address box. The Status page appears.  The MAC Address will be displayed (as shown below).
