Answer | The W6U wireless name and password can be changed in the Web Manager. Only Wi-Fi 6E supported client devices can connect to the W6U Wi-Fi network.Â
Changing the Wi-Fi Name and Password in the Web Manager The following steps must be performed on a laptop or mobile device that is connected to the home network.
- Launch a web browser and enter https://w6u.local/ into the address box, and press the Enter key.
 - A security or private risk alert may appear on the web browser advising users to proceed with caution when accessing the Web Manager. There is no risk in proceeding to the Web Manager. For instructions to by-pass the alert screen, refer to article # 18181 - Alert Message for Web Manager Access.
NOTE: The Setup Administration page will appear if this is the first time accessing the Web Manager. For assistance, refer to article # 19243 - W6U: Web Manager First Time Login.  - Enter the custom username in the Username field and the custom password into the Password field.
 - Click the Login button. The Network Status page will appear.
 - Click the Wireless Settings link in the left-hand menu.
 - Enter a new wireless network name in the SSID Name field. The name needs to be 1 to 32 alphanumeric characters long.
 - Enter a new wireless password in the Password field. The password needs to be 8 to 63 characters long.
 - Click the Submit button to apply the new settings. Â
CAUTION:Â When changing the wireless name and password, Wi-Fi 6E clients in the network will lose wireless connection and will need to connect to the new SSID with the new wireless password.
