The Backup and Restore feature in the WR2100 allows users to save and restore the configuration settings locally on a computer. Â This document contains the following sections:

To Backup the WR2100 Configuration
CAUTION: It is highly recommended to perform backup configuration with the WR2100's default login password.
- Make sure the wireless access point is powered on and working properly.Â
- Plug the WR2100 into a power outlet near the wireless access point.
- Press the Power button on the bottom of the WR2100. Â The Power LED stays on for a few seconds then starts blinking. Â Wait until the Power LED becomes solid again to be ready for use.Â
 - Connect an Ethernet cable from the WR2100 to a PC.Â
- Launch a web browser, such as Internet Explorer, Firefox, or Safari. Â Enter http://www.mywifirepeater.net/Â or http://192.168.0.254Â in the address box, and press the Enter key. Â The Login page appears.
- On the Login page, enter admin in the Username field.
- Enter password in the Password field.
- Press the Enter key. Â The ARRIS Setup page appears.

On the
ARRIS Setup page, click the
Maintenance from the left-hand menu.  The
Maintenance page appears.

- On the Maintenance page, click the Backup button.
- Click the OK button on the Select "Save" when prompted, dialog box.
- Click the Save button on the File download dialog box. Â The Save As window appears.
- On the Save As window:
a. Â Save in - Select Desktop in the pull-down menu.
b. Â File name - Leave at default name Routercfg.
c. Â Save as type - Leave at default type, CFG File.
d. Â Click the Save button.
e. Â Click the
Close button.

- Launch a web browser, such as Internet Explorer, Firefox, or Safari. Â Enter http://www.mywifirepeater.net/Â or http://192.168.0.254 in the address box, and press the Enter key. Â The Login page appears.
- On the Login page:
a. Â Enter admin in the Username field.
b. Â Enter password in the Password field.
c. Â Press the Enter key. Â The ARRIS Setup page appears.

- On the ARRIS Setup page, click the Maintenance from the left-hand menu.  The Maintenance page appears.

- On the Maintenance page, click the Browse button.  The System Window appears.
- On the System Window,
a. Â Select Desktop.
b. Â Select the Routercfg.cfg file.
c. Â Click the Open button.
- Click the Restore button.

- A window will pop-up, click the OK button.

- The WR2100 will reboot.

Once the reboot is complete, a window will pop-up, click the OK button.
