Question
How do I troubleshoot Intermittent connectivity with my WR2100 Wireless Repeater?
Answer
Troubleshooting intermittent connectivity can be tricky because there may be many factors involved.  Here is a brief guide intended to help users make sure they've checked all the essential steps.  Listed below are the most common causes of connection issues.

Requirement - A wireless gateway or router must be connected to the Internet for the WR2100 to function.

Disable AutoBA

Some wireless access points and routers use IEEE 802.11g or 802.11b that may not support Block ACK speed accelerator feature.  AutoBA should be disabled if the issue relates to transfer speeds or sporadic connections with these types of devices.

  1. Make sure the wireless access point is powered on and working properly.
  2. Plug the WR2100 into a power outlet near the wireless access point.
  3. Press the Power button on the bottom of the WR2100.  The Power LED stays on for a few seconds then starts blinking.  Wait until the Power LED becomes solid again to be ready for use.

Check for interference
  1. If Intermittent connectivity is apparent, check for interference with other wireless devices such as cordless phones, microwaves, baby monitors, and etc. An amber LED for the Access Point/Repeater would also indicate that a different location may be best for higher signal strength from the WR2100 to your access point.
