Question

How do I verify my IP address in Windows 8?

Answer

The following steps will guide how to verify the computer's IP Address.

  1. Move the mouse's cursor to the lower right corner of the screen.  A right pane will now appear.

  2. On the right pane, click the Search icon.  The Search pane will now appear.

  3. On the Search pane, type in cmd in the field.  The Command Prompt icon appears and click the Command Prompt icon.  The Command Prompt window will now appear.

  4. On the Command Prompt window type ipconfig and press Enter.

  5. The IP Configuration is displayed, listing the IPv4 Address, Subnet Mask, and Default Gateway for the computer.

  6. Click the red X in the upper right corner to exit.
