Follow these steps to verify your computer's IP address:
On the Windows Vista desktop, click Start to display the Start Menu and click All Programs
Â
Click Accessories.
Â
Click Run to display the Run window.
Â
Type cmd and click OK to open a command prompt window.
Â
Type ipconfig and press Enter to display the IP Configuration. A display similar to the following indicates a normal configuration.
Â
If the words "Autoconfiguration IP Address" are displayed, there is an incorrect connection between the PC and the modem, or there are broadband network problems. You will need to renew the IP address by typing ipconfig /renew at the command prompt and press Enter. If a valid IP address is displayed as shown, Internet access should be available. If you still don't get a valid IP address, refer to the "NOTE" at the end of this section.
Â
Type exit and press Enter to return to Windows. Â
