The mAX Router Wi-Fi credentials, Wi-Fi network name and password, are created during the SURFboard Central app onboarding setup.  The Wi-Fi network name (SSID) is unique and identifies the wireless network. The Wi-Fi password (also known as the wireless security key, encryption key or passphrase), allows Wi-Fi clients (such as smart phones and laptops) to connect to the SSID. This document describes how to change the Wi-Fi network name and password in the SURFboard Central app.Change the Wi-Fi Network Name and Password
- Tap the My Network icon on the bottom of the screen.Â
 - Tap the Network Management box.
 - Tap the Main Wi-Fi Network + button to expand the card, then tap the Pencil icon to make edits.
 - On the Edit Home Network, enter a new Wi-Fi network name in the Network Name (SSID) field.
 - Enter a new Wi-Fi password in the Password field. (The password must be 8 characters or longer. Use upper and lower case letters, numbers, and symbols for stronger security.)Â
 - Tap the Save Changes button.
CAUTION: When changing the Wi-Fi network name and password, Wi-Fi clients in the network will lose wireless connection and will need to connect to the new SSID with the new Wi-Fi password.  - On the alert box, tap the OK button.
 - The Network screen will return. Connect the Wi-Fi clients to the new SSID with the new Wi-Fi password.
