How do I register my G18/G20 gateway?

Answer

The G18/G20 Wi-Fi cable modems include a 1-year limited warranty from the date of purchase. Register the device and extend the warranty for an additional 3 months. When logging into the G18/G20 Web Manager, the Product Registration window is displayed. To register the G18/G20 Wi-Fi cable modem, click the Register button. This document describes how to register the G18/G20.

G18/G20 Product Registration

Launch a web browser, such as Internet Explorer, Firefox, or Safari. Enter http://192.168.0.1 into the address box, and press the Enter key. The https:// Redirect page will appear.
The SURFboard Web Manager is redirecting to a more secure connection. Click the Proceed button to continue. The Gateway > Login page will appear.
A security or private risk alert may appear on the web browser advising users to proceed with caution when accessing the Web Manager. There is no risk in proceeding to the Web Manager. For instructions to bypass the alert screen, refer to article 24206 - Alert Message for Web Manager Access.

NOTE: The Home Network Wizard will appear if this is the first time accessing the Web Manager. For assistance with the wizard, refer to article 23469 - G18/G20: Web Manager First Time Login.
The Username field has the word admin populated. Enter the custom password in the Password field.

NOTE: If the Login page prompts for an email address and a password, retrieve the email address and password in the app to sign in. For detailed instructions in the app, refer to article 23467 - SURFboard Central: Web Manager Access.
Click the Login button. The Product Registration window will appear.
On the Product Registration window, click the Register button. The ARRIS Device Registration page will appear.
Enter an email address into the Email Address field.
Enter the first name in the First Name field and enter a last name in the Last Name field.
Click the Next button.
Select the place of purchase store in the Place of Purchase field.
Select the service provider in the Service Provider field.
Enter the date when the G18/G20 was purchased in the Date of Purchase (MM/DD/YYYY) field.
To receive product and promotional offers, check the box next to Check if you would like to receive product and promotional offers from ARRIS.
Click the Submit button.
The product registration page provides a confirmation and a warranty expiration date of the registered product.
