How do I edit the device name and type using the McAfee® Secure Home Internet app?

Answer

The McAfee® Secure Home Internet (SHI) app allows editing the device name and type for devices connected in the home network. When a device is connected to the home network it will appear on the device list. The device name can be edited to something more easily recognized to identify the device. The device type should also be edited to reflect the type of device it is, because not all device features are available for all devices. This document contains the following sections:

Edit Device Name and Type

Tap the McAfee® SHI icon to launch the app. The Home screen will appear.
On the Home screen, tap on Devices. The Devices screen will appear.
On the Devices screen, swipe left on the device and tap on the Edit button. The Identify this device screen will appear.

NOTE: On the device details screen, the pencil symbol can also be tapped to edit the device name.
On the Identify this device screen, enter a name to describe the device in the field.
Tap the arrow to select an icon that reflects the device.
Tap the Done button. The Devices screen will appear.
The Devices screen will be updated with the new edits.
