The S33/S34 DOCSIS 3.1 cable modem is equipped with one 2.5-Gigabit Ethernet (10/100/1000/2500) port and one 1-Gigabit Ethernet (10/100/1000) port on the back panel. Ethernet port 2.5 GE transmits data up to 2.5 Gigabit per second and Ethernet port 1GE transmits data up to 1 Gigabit per second. For a typical setup, connect one device (computer or Wi-Fi router) to an Ethernet port on the back of the S33/S34 cable modem for Internet access.Â
Connect Multiple Client Devices The S33/S34 is a cable modem and allows one client device for Internet access. To provide Internet access to multiple client devices in the home network, add a Wi-Fi router to connect to the S33/S34 cable modem or replace the S33/S34 with a Wi-Fi cable modem like an SBG8300, G34, or G36.
Add Advanced Features The S33/S34 is a cable modem and does not include advanced features such as Wi-Fi, parental controls, port forwarding, and router functions. For advanced features, add a Wi-Fi router to connect to the S33/S34 cable modem or replace the S33/S34 with a Wi-Fi cable modem like an SBG8300, G34, or G36.Â
