SURFboard Central: Edit Device Name and Type

NOTE: This article applies to the SURFboard Wi-Fi Cable Modems (G18, G20, G34, G36, G54, SBG10, SBG6950AC2, SBG7400AC2, SBG7580-AC, SBG7600AC2, SBG8300).

The SURFboard Central app displays relevant network information for each client device connected to the Gateway Home Network.   Every client device can be expanded to display important network information, (i.e., Status, Connected to (Gateway) Device, Signal Strength, Advanced Information).  The client's device name and device type can be modified in the SURFboard Central app.  This document describes how to edit the connected device's name and type. 

Edit Device Name and Type

1. Tap the Devices icon on the Home screen to see the list of connected devices.
   
   
    
2. Tap the Pencil icon to edit the device name and Type.
   
   
    
3. Enter a new name for the device in the Enter Device name field.
    
4. Tap the Select your device type drop-down menu to change product type.
    
5. Tap the Save Changes button.
   
   
    
6. The updated device name and type will be applied.
